Coaching approach
Strict disciplinarian. Used the "metodo" formation (2-3-2-3) with two centre-halves protecting the back. Pioneered the modern manager role on international level.
The story
Pozzo is the only manager ever to win two World Cups. His Italy of the 1930s combined fascist-era political pressure with genuine tactical innovation. He coached Italy at four Olympics and is still the longest-serving Italy manager. Italian football historians regard him as the founder of the modern coaching profession.
