The story
Schön managed West Germany at FOUR World Cups (1966, 1970, 1974, 1978) — still a German record. He took them to the 1966 final, 1970 semifinal, won in 1974, and was runner-up to Italy in the 1972 Euros. His 1974 final tactics neutralised Cruyff's Netherlands in the second half.
