The story
The Mineiraço. Hosts Brazil, missing Neymar (injured) and captain Thiago Silva (suspended), led for 11 minutes before five Germany goals in the next 19 minutes broke them. Miroslav Klose's second-half goal made him the all-time leading World Cup scorer (16). Brazil finished the tournament conceding 14 goals — the most they have ever conceded at a World Cup. The result remains the most shocking in modern World Cup history.
