The top two teams in Group B — Switzerland and Canada — advanced directly to the Round of 32. The third-placed side could still progress as one of the eight best third-placed teams across the 12 groups.
Tiebreakers are applied in this order: points, then goal difference, then goals scored, then head-to-head record, then fair-play points, and finally the drawing of lots.
